I’m sorry about this, but i lied about showing u pictures this week. Ha ha. The pieces are annealing as I write this. Well, maybe not exactly. Verily, they r probably done yesterday. But I do bring gifts and stories. Actually, just stories.
I write this knowing u all r running around like mad headless chickens in the barnyard cause there aren’t any pictures. If headless chickens raised any pity, I might feel sorry. I’ll make this as vivid as possible (how can u hear if ur headless? interesting…).
I got make beads with soft glass! It has a brittle, irregular atomic structure and cracks when subjected to quick temperature changes. Thusly, we could no just bring home our beads if we wanted them in any form of beauty or art. There is my perfectly reasonable excuse for not havin’ pics. I promise I will show u next week.
I think I made 6 to 9 beads. They r pretty crazy. The entire process involves laying layer after layer of glass onto the mandrils. U keep turning the mandril until the glass has covered the entire base area. Then colors are added after to create depth. Clear on top of everything gives a magnifying effect. Here are some pics (not of me) to give some reference.
I guess most of the beads were slightly galaxy-ish. Lotsa swirling colors encased by clear. We’ll see how much like galaxies they are next week. I don’t even really remember the color schemes. It’s 2 in the morning and my mind is not functioning at its top notch right now. I just show u in pics in a few days.
